Hi.
Just wanted to shoot you a quick message to let you know that one of our city’s favorite bars is coming to you.
It’s called Bottled Blonde, and it’s got sausage pizza, so much beer, so much room to dance and what can only be described paradoxically as an indoor patio. It’s opening Friday in River North, and here’s what it looks like.
We imagine you Chicagoans might come here to watch Bears games, because it’s got 50 TVs and 24 beers on tap. Or for after-work drinks, because it’s got mango spice margaritas. Or to simply pizza yourselves silly, because of its signature cracker-crust creations like the Roman—a Chicago exclusive with pancetta, gorgonzola, potatoes and scallions.
Later in the evening, you can dance, or at least stand dramatically in the clubbier half of the space, where you’ll find 3D projection lights and black banquettes.
The rest of the time, though, you’ll probably want to lounge in the front half, which feels exactly like an outdoor patio. There’s faux ivy on the walls, comfy communal seating and a rather long, luxurious fireplace.
