Things to do for July 23, 2015

The Weekender

Fried Cheeseburgers, Car Wash, and TV on the Radio

When in weekend, do as weekends do.

Thursday
The Inevitable Deep-Fried Cheeseburger
FRYER’S CLUB

The Inevitable Deep-Fried Cheeseburger

Wood & Vine’s doing a deep-fried cheeseburger on its new summer menu. It’s a house-ground, deep-fried patty served with white cheddar, braised bacon and tomato jam. No county fair required.

Friday
Let’s See. Yoga or Wine, Your Call.
SMALL WANDER

Let’s See. Yoga or Wine, Your Call.

Wanderlust sounds like a desert music festival, but it’s a new yoga place in Hollywood. We mention it because they’re opening with a two-day party involving a Thievery Corporation DJ—and unlike most yoga places, this one’s got the Library, a beer and wine bar for members. That’s better.

Saturday
It’s Lobster Rolls for Lunch
TOP GUN

It’s Lobster Rolls for Lunch

Son of a Gun’s lobster rolls and fried-chicken sandwiches are now available for lunch on the weekends. Which is helpful. In case you are typically occupied at a place of business during the week or something.

Sat-Sun, 11:30am-2:30pm, Son of a Gun, 8370 W 3rd St, 323-782-9033

Car Wash: The Movie and the Foam Party
PRYOR COMMITMENT

Car Wash: The Movie and the Foam Party

On Saturday, you can go check out the 1976 Richard Pryor/George Carlin funk-comedy classic, Car Wash. It was filmed at a real LA car wash. After the movie, the organizers are going to have an actual foam party. It’s like virtual reality, in reverse.
