People love a good matchup.
Mayweather vs. Pacquiao.
Godzilla vs. Mothra.
Ramen vs. tapas.
Closely related to that last one is Jinya Ramen Bar, an LA import that’s going to come in really handy when you need something to slurp and/or share, opening Friday in Lincoln Park. (This is a slideshow and this is a menu.)
Upon entering, you’ll be greeted by a hearty “Irasshaimase” by the staff. So discreet entrances... not a thing here. Otherwise, it’s got the requisite reclaimed this and Edison that, and a little bar right in the middle of it all (though, heads up: the sake won’t flow until they get their liquor license, so it’s BYOB until then).
You’ll have to choose between six kinds of tonkotsu. Maybe just go straight for the garlicky Cha Cha Cha, which has the added benefit of being really fun to say.
Also in play: Japanese tapas, making it a respectable spot to catch up with old friends over old times while sharing pork buns, pig’s-ear chicharrones and kale lollipops.
Finally, a respectable kale lollipop place.
