Well, this is big.

At long last, here’s Uchi, the highly acclaimed Japanese spot from Austin that you’ll visit for expertly prepared sushi, bottles of sake and other equally compelling attractions. It officially opens tonight in Uptown.

Check it out. It’s handsome in there. All retro-modern with a real proclivity for wood. But more important is the food, because the menu’s featuring some of the freshest fish in town, plus Wagyu beef, pork belly and other things you’ll want to eat instead of simply read about. (Drool over this menu.)

Go ahead and make a reservation. If you’re bringing a date, first off, great call. But also, pull up a couple chairs at the sushi bar. There you can watch chefs wield knives and perform magical feats of fish-related exploits. Choose a few dishes, or better yet, let them choose for you. Leaves more energy for consumption.

If it’s an outing with friends you desire, request a table for you and a few others who appreciate the finer things in life. Like searing Wagyu beef over a hot rock, tasting through an impressive sake list and ordering all of the sashimi.

Just all of it.
