This little weekend went to market.

Because spring is a season that’s happening now. 2) Gordie Howe, Martin Brodeur and other hockey greats signed their jerseys for you. You can thank them never. 3) Exquisite, Swiss-made watches you could gift for Mother’s Day. Or keep for yourself.
A place called Taco in a Bag opened in Lincoln Square yesterday. What happens is you order a taco—with perfectly normal taco things like citrus-marinated shrimp, chorizo country gravy and deep-fried pepperoni—and then they shove it all inside a bag. It’s all right there in the name, you see.
You were inconsolable. What with the utter dearth of pork-gravy-and-cheese-curd poutine and pig meat po’boys and Kansas City–style ribs at your disposal. But then Pearl’s Southern Comfort came along and opened in Edgewater. And you got better. Slowly but surely, you got better.
Tonight, the Dawson pays homage to the Rose Room—that gloriously infamous Chicago “nightclub” that closed down over a century ago. Just look for the red lights, dramatic curtains and six-course French cocktail menu. Should be pretty easy to find since they’re right there in the Dawson.
Don’t freak out, but... apparently Heating & Cooling is hosting a studio wrap party for Dee Snider (yes, Twisted Sister Dee Snider) tomorrow night. We hear he may even hop on stage to play “We’re Not Gonna Take It.” Okay, you can freak out a little bit.
Hey, when’s the last time you played bocce? If your answer was anything but “Oh, just the other day in a massive outdoor beer garden with pepper-bacon-stuffed pork sausages,” then we suggest you head over to Kaiser Tiger this weekend. The idea being that they have all that stuff now.
Out with the old, in with the new. That adage could apply to any number of things. But when Winter Session debuts their all-leather travel bag and selvage denim tote at their pop-up this Saturday, it’ll only apply to one: your bags. See you next week on Fun with Adages.
