Proceed accordingly to Bodega Wine Bar, a cozy little grotto where you can spend your evening hours with red wines and cheese boards (and your date), quietly open now at Mockingbird and Abrams.
You may remember the same-named spot on Travis Street. Well, that closed a couple years ago, so it doesn’t do you any good now. But this place does. Because the stone-walled space is exactly where you might bring a date who enjoys Bordeaux, glowing fireplaces and your company. (See the slideshow.)
Like a good little wine bar, they’re serving charcuterie and cheese boards, should you desire such things. But if that doesn’t quite cut it, you can bring in food from nearby Taco Joint or Lovers Pizza. Just tell your date it’s a picnic, and therefore romantic.
Now, should your evening’s extracurricular activities require a bottle of wine to go, well, that can be arranged. Quite easily. Because this place is also a retail shop with a wine room stocked full of reds and whites.
