Good style is timeless.

Doesn’t matter what we’re talking about. Chairs. Buildings. Phones. Your hair.

On second thought, let’s talk about your hair. That matters.

Especially since The Public Barber, a small yet mighty outpost filled with scissors, straight razors and decanters of brown liquor, is now open in Uptown. (Your slideshow’s right here.)

At your service is Michael. A man who used to design things like high-end desks and chairs for a living, but who gave that up to make sure your mane is all it was truly meant to be.

The space he created is a minimalistic, high-ceilinged parlor in which to relax on mid-century furniture and listen to something indie-rockish while you wait.

Skim a bit of The Beautiful and Damned from that take-a-book, leave-a-book shelf next to you. Pour yourself a nip of something from the decanter—whatever’s in it will pair nicely with Fitzgerald. Basically, just relax. This is your time.

Soon enough, Michael will escort you to his chair and bring you into his high-and-tight world of hot-lather neck shaves, warm towels and, should you require, invigorating scalp massages.

You could also just want one instead of requiring one.
