So the Dogfish Head guy, NBA journeyman Matt Bonner and Win Butler from Arcade Fire walk into Mission Chinese... They’re all there for a beer-paired dinner for All-Star Weekend tonight, and it’s going to be a Mission Chinese greatest-hits list. You thought it was a joke, didn’t you?
Noted handsome-clothes maker Todd Snyder is packing up shop on City Gym, which has all his Champion collaboration stuff, and moving. For some reason, that means you can now have all the stuff that’s left for up to 75% off. It’s one of those “why question it” situations.
Far, far away, in San Francisco, there’s a place called the Slanted Door, where they brew up a mean pho. Much less far away, there’s Reynard, which is hosting the gents from said place for three nights of pho and Vietnamese pastries. Which is probably more practical for you this weekend.
You know Tiki Disco as the phenomenal, extremely well- and attractively attended Sunday dance and imbibing spectacle that happens in the summer. And now you know it as all of those things still, but happening for Presidents’ Day weekend. Now more sacred than ever.
Speaking of the Slanted Door, two other guys moved here after working there and just opened this place in Park Slope. Expect, yes, pho, along with a beer-and-spicy-fried-chicken-banh-mi situation. Yep, another one of those.
