Your options for hand-spun shakes, fried pickles and elk burgers are a bit limited these days. Luckily, Lincoln Park’s Burger Bar has opened its second location in the South Loop with all of the above, plus (once the liquor license arrives next week) 80 beers and a bourbon-centric bar. So... upgrade.
Ever walk into a bar and think, “Hey, wouldn’t it be cool to go ice curling right now?” If you have, Kaiser Tiger now has ice curling rinks in their outdoor beer garden, along with hot cider, whiskey and bacon s’mores. If you haven’t, well, there’s always darts.
The newest place to take a brunch date in the West Loop is Bar Takito. They’ll serve you Latin American street food like Arepa Steak & Eggs, housemade chorizo breakfast tacos and Columbian bacon. Then you’ll leave and probably not want to eat again for a while.
This Monday night, the Public Hotel is hosting a marathon viewing party for David Lynch’s Twin Peaks in honor of its sacrificial protagonist Laura Palmer. Good cherry pie and damn fine cups of coffee (regrettably) not included. Exclusion is so Lynchian.
