Because Biggs Cigar Emporium, an opulent mansion dedicated to the serious pursuit of stogie-puffing, is now soft-open.
It’s the latest incarnation of that one famous 1870s mansion, which was most recently Il Mulino. But this time, it’s putting its 15-foot ceilings, crystal chandeliers and hand-carved banisters at the service of fine tobacco.
Right now, the action is centered in the garden-level shop—peruse a selection of cigars in the Dominican Room. Learn a little bit about the newest up-and-coming tobacconists. But here’s where it gets interesting. If you rent a personal humidor, you’ll have access to the upstairs whenever you come visit your stash. In a few weeks, it’ll be BYOB and outfitted with couches, armchairs and a billiards room.
