You know what they say...
You can’t keep a good absinthe ritual down.
So welcome Albert Trummer’s latest incarnation, The Drawing Room, a sprawling cocktail playground where secret herbal elixirs mingle with booze and flames, officially opening tonight at the Shelborne Wyndham Grand.
Yep, we’re going back to the Shelborne. Because Albert Trummer’s decided to set up shop in SoBe... again. (See: Drogerie.) But things here are bigger, better and less flame-retardant. For example:
You’ve got imbibing options.
There’s the library, with rich brown leather banquettes and stacks of books. And then there’s the apothecary-jar-laden bar. Choose wisely. (But take a look at the slideshow first.)
Your bartenders will be sporting lab coats.
And mixing up Albert’s 10 secret herbal elixirs with things like tequila and bourbon to make drinks that can help ease stress or inspire, um, amorous feelings. They’re also there to stack champagne flutes in a pyramid and light the whole thing on fire. Because, of course.
There’s an absinthe ritual.
It’s coming soon. They’re still brewing the absinthe with secret herbs. But know that it’ll require four people, a pewter statuette with multiple spouts, sugar cubes and more fire.
Absinthe’s also a good guess.
