Ceres’ Table has moved from its spot across from St. Boniface Cemetery to—let’s just say it—a better location. It’s on Broadway, it’s bigger, and chef Giuseppe Scurato has revamped the menu, though his linguine skills are still impressive. Some things never change.
This little brewpub from the Harvest Moon folks in Evanston has a Cajun-y menu—po’boys, shrimp-and-crawfish étouffée—and beers like the Mad Mouse Ratmandu, their American IPA. You knew the whole Cajun-meets-brewpub boom would hit town sooner or later.
Out-of-town guests. Sometimes you love ’em, sometimes you want to, oh, shove ’em off a building. For the latter, try this: Tilt, the leaning-glass 94th-floor observatory at 360 Chicago (aka the Hancock observatory). It’s basically a movable platform 1,000 feet over Michigan Avenue. It’s enclosed in glass, so no spitting.
There’s going to be a lot of beer at Soldier Field this weekend. A hundred breweries, 500 beers. Oh, sure, there’ll be live bands, too. And hot dogs, burgers and pretzels. Plus, there will be educational beer sessions. So basically, it’s a small tribute to your college years.
Mother’s Day. Just you and your mom spending time together… But, hey, if Alpana Singh wants to hang out with you two and discuss/pour wine, the more, the merrier. If Mom gets too busy sipping and learning about wine to ask about your love life, we hope that’s okay.
