1923 wasn’t all bootleg liquor and people talking in that unnecessarily fast and high-pitched way, you
know.
There was a bunch of other stuff, too.
Like Playboy models dancing around in corsets on the Strip.
All right, that last part happens in 2014...
And it happens at 1923 Bourbon & Burlesque, an old-timey den of cigars, whiskey and cabaret helmed by Holly Madison of that-magazine-with-the-bunny fame, now open at Mandalay Bay.
It’s not a subtle spot. Few places with dangling chandeliers, gilded love seats and a vintage Flint parked out front are. So maybe bring someone interesting along. Someone who can hold their own with 54 different whiskeys, 23 different cigar labels and one debaucherous stage.
You’ll make your entrance to the sounds of a live jazz quartet. A lovely server dressed in fringe and pearls will escort you to the private room in the back. Sink into a velvet banquette. Start ordering Negronis and gin fizzes. And then... well, then the good part.
Specifically, the part where a redheaded Holly Madison takes the stage surrounded by the silhouettes of burlesque dancers and does what she does best.
And then you’ll do what you do best.
Which is enjoy what she does best.
