If you need a drink, listen up.
Same goes if you need a haircut.
Get acquainted with Encore, the renamed, revamped and reopened watering hole that’s now operating inside the old Marquee Bar spot in Highland Park Village.
To get here, just head through the glass double doors under the Frederic Fekkai sign. If you’re in the market for a trim, then by all means, keep walking straight. But if you’re more interested in single malts and ginger caipirinhas, take those stairs on your left.
Once inside, you’ve got leather love seats, low-slung tables and a 12-seat bar. All are fine options for settling in with your date after a movie at the attached theater. Or just settling in with yourself because it’s Tuesday and you like whiskey and chairs.
Drinks-wise, the menu’s sporting Pimm’s Cups, whiskey smashes and a tequila concoction with berry-habanero jam. And yes, such things do pair nicely with beef jerky. So thankfully, they had the foresight to make that in-house with a sake-and-soy marinade. Which really sets you up solidly for the toasted panini and charcuterie board.
Or another round of jerky.
