Grasshoppers. Italian Beef Pizza. Here.

You and Eataly have established quite the rapport in the past few weeks.

Well, great. We’d never stand in between you and an Alba truffle.

But it’s good to know you’re still up for a time-honored Italian beef sandwich or just a good, hot pizza.

Because now there’s a place that serves an Italian beef sandwich in the form of a pizza.

Meet Pranzi, a nice-looking River North pizzeria that still believes there is room for innovation in the classics, now open.

Consider this place a breather from this month’s high-profile Italian spots. It’s outfitted in handsome silvers and grays, some chandeliers and Rat Pack photographs, and you’ll find the occasional Frank Sinatra on the playlist.

Glide in, grab a seat at the bar and crack open a Revolution Fiestmas or the place’s version of a classic Grasshopper made with Fernet-Branca and Italian mint. Watching the Bulls with a Grasshopper—highly recommended.

But pretty soon, you’ll be hungry. They’ve got baked mostaccioli and veal parms for you. Or when you can’t decide whether you’re in a pizza or sandwich mood, you’ll order Da Cheezy Beef, a double-crust pizza stuffed with Italian beef and gooey mozzarella.

Probably won’t be hungry after that.
