Hello, is it the weekend you’re looking for?

Wisconsin Wants to Wine-and-Dine You

Ah, Wisconsin. Our friendly rival to the north. Turns out, they’ve decided to make amends by hosting you at the Kohler Food & Wine Experience with wine pairings, cooking demonstrations and probably more wine tastings. Think of it as an olive branch. With grapes instead of olives.

The Only Way to Do Ditka’s Birthday

Tomorrow is Mike Ditka’s 74th birthday. Now, normally, that would mean you’re about to go to Timothy O’Toole’s Pub for “Da Super Fan Challenge,” where you try to finish an enormous platter of Chicago-style pub food (ribs, wings, beef sandwiches...) as quickly as possible. But tomorrow... actually, that’s all it means.

These Are the Oysters You Require

October’s pretty splendid. The playoffs. The rustle of leaves. The Oysterfest. That last one’s celebrating its 25th year tomorrow, by the way. You should go. Eat some things from the sea. Watch Chicago blues legend Buddy Guy do his thing. Wear a toboggan. Grow a beard. Boil a gourd. Your call.

Go Here. Become Better Looking.

Northern Grade. Maybe you know them. Maybe you don’t. Doesn’t matter. They do pop-ups. Pop-ups full of dapperness like jeans from Left Field NYC and boots from Oak Street Bootmakers and field shirts from Filson. Oh, and they’re coming to town this weekend. Which seems important.

Oct 19, 11am-7pm; Oct 20, 11am-5pm; Northern Grade, South Promenade of Millennium Park

Apparently, Oktoberfest Is Still Going

Oktoberfest. It’s the October you know and love, but with a “k.” And it’s not over until Frontier says it is. Yes, they’re having a party. And yes, it involves homemade sausages, giant beer steins and a live Ohm Paa Paa band. We’re assuming those types of bands are great.

Oct 19, noon-3am, Frontier, 1072 N Milwaukee Ave, 773-772-4322
