Tonight.

At a place called PLAY, a modish cocktail den coyly tucked next to the Museum of Sex, now open in NoMad.

This place is a pretty standard sex-museum cocktail joint. Meaning, yes, there’s a library—several rows of bookshelves punctuated by the occasional leather sofa. Okay, so there’s a cocktail you lick out of a skin-textured plate. Also: some curiously placed metal handles on the bathroom wall. So what.

You’ve got a few digital-video bricks in the wall featuring people... aggressively knowing each other. (Ahem.) But really, the homeyness of the horseshoe banquettes and the Pegu-Club-vet-approved cocktails make this a decidedly non-gimmicky spot for any date but a first.

It’s all situated behind a café-by-day that’ll also have champagne and coffee cocktails at night. But in the back, with the books, there’s lounging to be done. Inhibitions to be dropped. Drinks with fruit crushed by celebrities’ bare feet to be sipped.

Okay... so maybe any date after the second.
