Easy.
We like that word. Makes us think of summer breezes. Beaches. Beer. Milkshakes. Lobster rolls.
Also, this place: Standard Market Grill, a laid-back new perch over Fullerton and Clark that’s ready to fill your life with simple pleasures, starting tomorrow.
The people behind this place have a similar establishment in Westmont. But since you probably haven’t been out to visit them, they’ve brought their house-ground beef and small-batch cheeses here.
The menu is familiar in a good way. Chocolate milkshakes with Bobtail ice cream. Beer from Solemn Oath and Metropolitan. Burgers topped with a cheddar/bleu cheese hybrid.
You’ll order at the register and be given an electronic table tracker so your server can find you. After that, you’ll be involved in the regular server-customer relationship.
If you just want a drink with friends, though, we advise using the bar. It’s a fairly straightforward deal with TVs, 16 taps, accordion doors overlooking Clark and drinks like the Maple Whiskey Smash (fruit, whiskey, a little prosecco).
You’ll also want to keep this in mind when heading to Fullerton Beach. Stop in for a lobster roll called a Knuckle Sandwich and weekend brunch options like boneless chicken and waffles.
You hate bony waffles.
