Note: Opening is July 26
For those about to rock, we salute you.
Your timing is excellent.
You’re ready for Fame, a very cool lair filled with rock music, street art and bacon Manhattans, opening tonight in Wicker Park.
The team behind Angels & Kings hired Antonio Ballatore (a tattooed HGTV host) and a Las Vegas chef who goes by the name Sammy D (soon to be seen on the Travel Channel) to create something between a gallery and a party den. This is what they came up with.
So art: yes, everywhere. Look for murals, graffiti, photography (all of which is for sale) and drips of paint on the floor (which is not).
It’ll be open for dinner, if you need a burger topped with beef jerky from Paulina Meat Market (you do). But you’ll really like it later. Say, after you’ve been out at a certain all-day music fest and you, heroically, want to continue the party.
Come here for that feeling you get when it’s late and somehow you end up with a group of strangers in the warehouse loft of some crazy artist you met somewhere along the line. Oh, and someone is whipping up a tray of cucumber martinis.
Hydration is important.
