Pizza.
Atari.
Beer.
Pretty much sums up one version of heaven...
But you can just call it A4 Pizza Bar, basically a cold-draft-and-wood-fired-pies Wonka lab, aiming to open the first week of July in Somerville.
What you’re dealing with here is Area Four’s pizza-testing workshop. So they’ve got pizza, sure. But we’ll get there. First, step inside. Give it a second. Let your eyes focus on the vintage Fat Boys LPs on the wall, the industrial gas tank covers that were repurposed into dangling light fixtures and the general woodshop vibe all around you. There. All better.
Sit at the bar with some friends. Consider a pint of something local (Backlash, Jack’s Abby...) dispensed from a custom diamond-tread steel beer tap (picture a pickup truck toolbox that pours beer).
But back to the pizza. Back to those pepperoni-soppressata-and-bacon-topped Carnivore pies you’re about to insert into your face. Those should pair quite nicely with a game of Pitfall. Which they have. It’s for the Atari. Which they also have.
Oh, and if you’re the serious-cocktail type, well... don’t come here. All they have is barrel whiskey.
Good thing that’s your drink.
