This weekend is the official unofficial start of summer. You know this. You’ve earned this. And now, it’s time to host a party and eat grilled meat in honor of this. Preferably in a place that doesn’t have walls. Like on a rooftop. Or around a pool. So... any of these places.

ON THE ROOFTOP

El Techo de Lolinda

You require: A little bit of altitude and the sunniest rooftop in the Mission.
You’ll receive: A steakhouse below you, Latin street food on the be-heat-lamped roof in front of you and cocktails everywhere. Oh, and your own personal bartender manning the grill. Or your own personal grilltender manning the bar.

AT THE POOL

Chambers Eat + Drink at the Phoenix

You require: Anything from a poolside BBQ soiree to an authentic New England clambake.
You’ll receive: A pool, naturally. Also, access to the cabanas, DJs from Mighty upon request and a menu with things like smoked pork belly and Kobe tri-tip. And hotel rooms. Lots of hotel rooms.

NEXT TO THE DOCK

The Patio at La Mar

You require: A place to park your schooner. And eat ceviche.
You’ll receive: A public dock where you can anchor your vessel. Which happens to be connected to a patio with umbrellas, heat lamps, pisco sours and grilled skewers of meat. Nice work, inventor of this place.

BY THE BAY

The Deck at Epic Roasthouse

You require: Mountains of steak and a stellar Bay Bridge view.
You’ll receive: A big deck overlooking the bay and its namesake bridge. Not to mention a level of steakery the likes of which you’ve never seen. Or maybe you have. Still, it sounded good.

ON THE PATIO

The Patio at Starbelly

You require: A whole roasted pig and a carafe of sangria.
You’ll receive: That stuff we just said you required. Of course you’ll receive that. And it’s all coming family-style. Hot dogs. Burgers. The whole nine. You could get used to this summer thing.
