Holiday tunes on the radio. Bells jingling in the streets. Boozed-up carolers.
Needless to say, you could use a new spot for some live music of the non-Kringle variety.
We found it. And it’s got a bonus restaurant attached.
Get your lighters ready for The Sinclair, Harvard Square’s gorgeous music venue and eatery hybrid, open for performances starting tonight.
This is a shimmering, subway-tiled, 500-person live music den perfect for entertaining a third date at one of the tables on the mezzanine level overlooking the stage (save the crowd surfing for date four).
From there, you’ll drink in the sounds pouring from the state-of-the-art German audio system over a Big Sky (Rittenhouse rye, orange bitters, Laphroaig 10-year float). But if the music overpowers you, you’ll swing by the vintage-y main bar on the ground floor for a Word of Mouth, with Turkish molasses, sherry and seven-year-old rum (try not to spill it while headbanging).
And in a couple of weeks, a restaurant from Michael Schlow (Tico, Via Matta) will open above the space. Think: old railroad-track beams, leather booths flanked by vinyl records and Pastrami’d Pork Belly Sliders.
Pork belly is a known music-enhancer.
