It’s called Woodward Table, it’s from the chef behind Bistro Bis and Vidalia, and it opens Saturday night.
In the old beaux arts hotel that used to house Potenza, this is the kind of place where you’ll map out how the next four years are going to go down—it feels familiar, but not in a vintage-y/reclaimed wood kind of way.
Start at the bar, where you can gaze out at the sidewalk traffic, at the important guy across from you, or at the duck chili mac and the Cock’s Comb cocktail in front of you (you’ll just have to find out).
But when it’s time to close a deal (or just pretend you’re closing a deal while drinking a nice bottle of cab), head for one of the horseshoe-shaped booths. There you can get all into lamb ribs, roasted marrowbones and lobster with creamy rice grits. For dessert: maybe a Nutella espresso drink from their in-house barista station.
If you’re in a hurry, order a breakfast sandwich or a ham-hock flatbread at their grab-and-go spot next door, Woodward Takeout Food.
