World's First Solar-Powered Ski Jacket

Good news: It's pouring.

That means snow in the Sierras, which means it's time to buy that season pass...and pick out this year's jacket.

We like the ZegnaSport Solar Ski-Jkt from Italian sartorialist Ermenegildo Zegna. The down-filled parka has pretty much all the features you'd want in a ski jacket—it's warm, lightweight and breathable, with taped seams to keep wind and water out while you're tearing down the mountain.

But then it's also got that little something extra. Okay, that big something extra—it's the world's first solar-powered ski jacket. This comes via the detachable neoprene collar, equipped with solar panels that'll absorb all that Tahoe sunlight and convert it into juice for your gadgets. So in about four hours' time, you can recharge your iPod, phone or GPS device—and stay on the grid, even when you're off it.

Of course, impressive functionality aside, it also looks good. It's sharp and sleek, allowing for a seamless transition from the trails to the après ski scene.

We hear you can also take it off pretty quickly...
