Things to do for November 23, 2011
The Weekender
Turkey Bingo, a Crab Feast and Black Friday
The weekend is neither a pilgrim nor an Indian in this scenario.
Wednesday
Thursday
Turkey-topia Bingo at the Knockout
There’s nothing like a game of chance to get the adrenaline flowing. And while Vegas is always an option, you’ll be better off heading to this festive dive for bingo. The stakes aren’t as high, but at this time of year, it’s impossible to put a price on winnings like free drinks and turkey basters.
Friday
Gant Rugger at Welcome Stranger
Since you’ll probably be out shopping anyway, you might as well add a stop at this pop-up to your list. They’ve got nearly the entirety of Gant’s latest stuff, from the Cordster blazer to the Army sweater. Because some of the best gifts are the ones you give yourself.
40% Off at Department Seventeen
In honor of this shopping holiday, the entire store (minus the Uniform Wares watches) will be up to 40% off. Between jackets from Penfield and Crescent Down Works and sweaters from Norse Projects, you’ll be doing Black Friday good.
Saturday
A Chocolate-Filled Shop in Dogpatch
The precursor to the crazy chocolate café/wine bar opening this spring, this shop dubbed Little Nib is packing a ton of chocolate into a very tiny space. Imagine shelves filled with Recchiuti’s best—some of which you can’t find at their Ferry Building outpost—and all of which ought to tide you over nicely.
Tuesday
Nothing but Crab at Starbelly
This week: turkey. Next week: Dungeness crab. You’ll hunker down in the heated patio with generous pours of chardonnay and sparkling wine and piles of crab with drawn butter as well as crab chowder in sourdough bowls. The apple cobbler, however, is fortunately sans crab.
