You don’t ask for much from a sports bar.
Cold beer. Nachos. And, of course, room for you and 699 of your closest friends.
Prepare to watch Wimbledon, soccer and anything else sports-related with the equivalent of a small village: Duffy’s Sports Grill opens this Friday in North Miami Beach.
To help you fully appreciate the enormity of this behemoth, we’ll hit you with some stats: two hundred flat-screens. Seven hundred seats. Forty beers. Six kinds of burgers. Fifty spaces for boats at the restaurant’s dock. (More on that later.)
Housed in the old Water Club space, Duffy’s kept the basic setup—the huge multitiered dining room inside, the poolside bar, the patio with 10-foot flat-screens overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. (It’s like a tiki bar and Best Buy collided.)
The place is ideal for taking in, say, a Marlins game (and when the NFL comes back, a Dolphins game) and feasting on dive-bar delicacies like Loaded Potato Skins (topped with bacon), half-pound burgers and chicken wings. (Go ahead, order the “atomic” sauce.)
As for that dock, you can tie up your boat and watch the game on one of the outdoor screens. They’ll deliver your smoked fish dip and churrasco steak to the dock.
You always knew that boat would come in handy.
