Well, here we are again... Black Friday. To help ease your burden—and get you swiftly back to life’s more noble pursuits—we’ve compiled five essential pit stops for next week’s inaugural <a target= "_blank" href="http://www.facebook.com/midtownpopup">Midtown Pop-Up Shop</a>, where hundreds of vendors are peddling their holiday wares. Don’t worry, we also found you a little soiree.
You’ll want to kick things off in the Billy Reid camp. Partly for the checked popovers and hopsack navy blazers, but mostly because they’ll be having a little get-together on Thursday night with live music and gratis bourbon until 9. From now on, this is how you shop.
Bourbon: check. New blazer: check. Gift for that certain brunette in your life: not check. Now might be a good time to head over to the Les Nouvelles shop, where they’ll be slinging Everest boots and Penfield jackets from Rag & Bone’s women’s collection. Okay, now you can get back to the party.
Antiquing. Not necessarily top of your holiday to-do list. But next weekend, for the first time ever, Love Train Antiques is dropping its “trade-only” mantra and unleashing its rare collection of Belgian, French and Swedish oddities (think French leather club chairs, Belgian oak farm tables) for your perusal. And self-gifting.
Ah, Savannah. Historic mansions on the square, trees dripping with Spanish moss... girls named Daisy. Also, honey (apparently). Savannah Bee Company will be setting up shop with all manner of silky, honey-infused products that you’ll be happy to be on the… receiving end of (we’re looking at you, Royal Jelly Body Butter). Use your imagination.
And you’ll want to cap off your bourbon-soaked, honey-dripped weekend at Olive & Sinclair, the Nashville-based chocolate gurus who’ll be doling out all manner of aphrodisia like sea salt chocolate, Mexican-style cinnamon and chili chocolate and buttermilk white chocolate all weekend.
