For two nights over in Culver City, Rush Street is transforming into a brand-new watering hole. Welcome to Fangtasia, aka the Shreveport, Louisiana, vampire bar in True Blood. Your favorite bartendress will be dressed as Sookie Stackhouse, and you might see a scantily clad vampire or two biting the stripper pole upstairs.
This weekend’s other two-night party is at Downtown’s newest saloon―and it’s so big, it’s spilling over into a circus tent in the parking lot. Your night(s) will be a crazy swirl of freak shows, tarot cards, live jazz, fire tricks and $3 cans of beer dressed in a brown bag.
Among the stilt-walkers towering over Saturday’s Halloween bash at Les Deux, you’ll find one of your favorite mixologists Aidan Demarest dressed as the ringmaster—and a few of his favorite mixologists from across the country (plus London) serving crazy drinks throughout. Try the Ghoulia Child, with vodka and lavender-hibiscus syrup.
Just in time for your Halloween-weekend grand finale, Magnolia’s got a new brunch, with $4 drinks (Bloodys, mimosas, screwdrivers, greyhounds) and build-your-own mac and cheese (you can add turkey, chicken and applewood-smoked bacon). Just go easy if you’re dressing as hotel-room Charlie Sheen.
