The 49ers are in practice mode and the Giants just scored a clean sweep on the Dodgers...
Which means one thing: we’ve got some prime game-watching ahead of us. And we know just the spot...
Introducing Pedro’s Cantina, a two-story behemoth of a ballpark sports bar with a Mexican slant (and about two dozen strategically placed plasmas) opening in SoMa this Friday for your game-watching pleasure.
Given its prime locale steps from the ballpark, Pedro’s will be the oversize waterfront canteen you’ll go to on game day for the ideal combination of pre-, post- and real-time sports-watching intensity—served up with a rustic Baja vibe and street-style tacos, gigantic fork-and-knife super burritos and margaritas.
While the massive, brick-and-timber warehouse space is loosely sectioned off into a veranda upstairs and a cabana in back, you’ll want to take over a section of the 360-degree steel bar for prime viewing opportunities—both people- and TV-wise. There, you’ll indulge in pitchers of a half-dozen signature margaritas, including the potent jalapeño-spiked namesake Pedro’s Margarita.
And since the father-and-son team of the Osborne clan are behind it all, you should know that Pedro’s shares a secondary entrance from Pete’s Tavern. So if you start with some brews at Pete’s, you can sneak through the side door into the back of Pedro’s for something with a bit more kick.
Rumors of a third door leading to the Giants’ bullpen could not be confirmed at press time.
