Yes, You're Meeting with Joel McHale
This week, Perks is introducing you and three friends to none other than Joel McHale on the set of The Soup. Assuming all that comic genius can fit in one studio.
The weekend's cup runneth over.

Tonight, just before your usual late-night capers at Tongue & Groove and Gold Room, head across the street to the now-open US Cafe for a Fat Tire draft, a spot of nine-ball and some bourbon wings. Nothing primes you for bourbon like bourbon.
The Mansion on Peachtree is kicking off Movies in the Garden with Fellini's La Dolce Vita, along with plenty of Italian-inspired hors d'oeuvres and cocktails (because grissini with prosciutto deserves a Negroni on its heels). Your Italian-inspired date will thank you later.
Today it is our humble and honorable duty to inform you of an upcoming event involving midgets, chokeslams, elbow drops and the occasional flying mare. It's called Atlanta Midget Wrestling, and now is your chance to catch Mini Manson in the Greatest Little Show on Earth. Just don't look Manson in the eye.

ANOTHER 48 HOURS Making Movies in 48 Hours Last weekend, a few crews of Atlanta filmmakers were given a character, a prop and a line of dialogue... and 48 hours to write, edit and score a short film. This weekend, you can see if their 48-hour opus has the potential to be included in next year's Cannes lineup when the films are screened at the Plaza Theatre. Hopefully the theater's history as a skin-flick cinema in the '70s and burlesque venue in the '80s wasn't lost on the filmmakers. |

You and Sweetwater go way back. So do you and Terrapin. And Red Brick. But if a three-way battle for top billing in your glass is wrong, you don't want to be right. This Saturday, the Atlanta Summer Beer Fest offers unlimited "tastes" of the aforementioned, along with live music and an after-party. Think of it as a pre-after-party party.
Chances are, the next time you end up in Brookhaven, you'll also end up at Valenza. We suggest ending up there on Monday nights, because that's when the entire wine list will be half off. We should also mention that their sister restaurant, HAVEN, offers a similar scenario on Sundays. Wine is the new Bloody Mary.
