We Trust Pitchfork's Founder Knows His Way Around the Decks

Yesterday, Pitchfork celebrated the 200 Best Albums of the '60s, publishing a pretty intensive guide to records like Jefferson AIrplane's Surrealistic Pillow and Johnny Cash At Folsom Prison, and 198 others we won't name. Tonight, they're throwing a release party for the story, where Pitchfork staffers (like, the founder and executive editor) will be spinning their favorite '60s tunes, with folk and jazz by the front bar and more danceable stuff on the dance floor. Makes sense.

Down at Soho's Morrison Hotel Gallery, they're celebrating the 50th anniversary of Jimi Hendrix's debut studio album with an exhibition of the photographs he made alongside photographer Karl Ferris for Are You Experienced's cover art. It's all extremely colorful, trippy, and generally Hendrix-esque.
