The Weekender

25 Tequilas, Gratis Pizza and Godzilla

The weekend says word to your mother.

Thursday
French Pizza and Beer at Grand Café
PIECE OF THE PIE

French Pizza and Beer at Grand Café

Grand Café just introduced a new menu of Flammenküche—which, despite the name, isn't France's hottest new metal band. It's actually French for pizza, and the joint's celebrating by dishing out free pies, along with gratis brews from Speakeasy. No pepperoni, but you'll make do with duck sausage pie.

Saturday
Godzilla-thon at New People's Theater
MONSTER MASH

Godzilla-thon at New People's Theater

How better to celebrate Mother's Day weekend than... with a marathon of flicks starring the oversize Japanese lizard-dinosaur-monster icon. You'll be happy to note that this four-movie Godzilla marathon doesn't include the 1998 remake. (Our apologies to Matthew Broderick.)

May 8-13, New People, 1746 Post St (at Webster), 415-525-8630

Farm-to-Table Feast in the Vineyards
VINE DINING

Farm-to-Table Feast in the Vineyards

You've heard good things about Chef Mateo Granados's new Yucatan supper club, held weekly at a barn in Healdsburg. But if you prefer something a little more... formal, head up to Quivira's wine-paired dinner, held in a vineyard. Hey, we said a little more formal, not a lot.

May 8, 4-8pm, $125, Quivira Vineyards, 4900 West Dry Creek Rd, Healdsburg, call 877-759-1004 to reserve

Sunday
A Shirt-Only Pop-Up on Chestnut
MEASURING UP

A Shirt-Only Pop-Up on Chestnut

All weekend, you can drop by the Marina to pick up some handsome new polos and made-to-measure button-ups from the guys at Taylor Stitch and Marine Layer. Stop in on Sunday afternoon, when cocktails and beers are on the house. Just don't spill anything on that new shirt.

Now through May 9, 11am-7pm (happy hour May 9 at 5pm), 2209 Chestnut St (at Pierce)

Monday
Nopalito's Tequila Bar
RAISING THE BAR

Nopalito's Tequila Bar

The carnitas at Nopalito are already tremendous. But even so, they were missing one key pairing: tequila. After a year of only serving beer and wine, Nopa's little Mexican outpost is now pouring about 25 tequilas and mezcals, served straight or in margaritas. Or, on a good night, both.

Daily, 11:30am-10pm, Nopalito, 306 Broderick St (at Oak), 415-437-0303

Wednesday
Outdoor Disposable Film Fest Screening
SCREEN SAVERS

Outdoor Disposable Film Fest Screening

You've produced some cinematic masterpieces on your iPhone (in particular, your remake of Alien vs. Predator as a romantic comedy). So you'll appreciate this bike-in screening of movies made on cell phones, point-and-shoot cameras and webcams. Technically, you're supposed to ride your bike there, but we hear street parking's available nearby. We won't tell if you won't.

May 12, 8-10pm, parking lot across from The Good Hotel, 112 Seventh St (at Minna)
