Things to do for October 25, 2007

The Weekender

The Weekend Starts Here

This year, we're dressing up as the weekender.

Friday
Brewtopia V
FRIDAY BEER

Brewtopia V

Described as a "roman orgy of microbrews," Brewtopia is apparently your last chance for Oktober-based revelry. Fifty bucks buys you a whirlwind of hops, along with enough pretzels and beer brats to keep you sated. Toga optional.

411: Oct. 26 7-11pm, and Oct. 27 12-4pm and 5-9pm, Pier 92 (12th Ave and W 52nd), $49.99 per session

John Varvatos Sale
WEEKEND SALES

John Varvatos Sale

Up to 70% off the good stuff: Button-down shirts, black leather jackets and pin-striped suits.
411: Oct 29 to Nov 2, 10am-6pm; Nov 3 and Nov 4, 11am-7pm, 212-725-5400

Helmut Lang and rag & bone
Go from rags to... rag & bone as the label teams with Mr. Lang to offer up cashmere sweaters, trousers and outerwear starting at $115.

411: Nov 1 10am to 7pm, Nov 2 10am to 6pm, 261 W 36th St (between 7th and 8th Ave), 212-947-8748

Saturday
The Sixth Ward Opens Up
SATURDAY BEER GARDEN

The Sixth Ward Opens Up

The Sixth Ward brings a taste of Dublin's best beer halls to the LES. Literally. The owner flew in a specialist from the Emerald Isle to make sure their CO2 and nitrogen settings for Guinness were the same as the typical pub in Ireland. Slainte!

411: 191 Orchard St (between E Houston and Stanton), 212-228-9888

Monday
Uncle Jack's Steakhouse
MONDAY STEAK

Uncle Jack's Steakhouse

He was always our favorite uncle. This North Chelsea steak joint is moving uptown with a brand new prix fixe tasting menu featuring crab cakes, lobster tail, a choice of steak, and an open bar for two and a half hours. Like any marathon, you have to stay hydrated.

411: 44 W 56th St (between 5th and 6th Ave), 212-245-1550

Tuesday
A Night of Renegade Fashion
TUESDAY FASHION DUEL

A Night of Renegade Fashion

Part of LVHRD's campaign to eliminate vowels, FSHNDL (short for "fashion duel") gives a team of designers a surprise assignment, and an hour to create a couture ensemble live onstage, while the party rages on around them. In other words, it's a walk-off. Of course, it's so secret that even ticket-holders won't know the location until four hours before, and that's assuming you can get your HNDS on some TCKTS.

411: More information is available at the LVHRD.org

Wednesday
NikeID Studio
WEDNESDAY KICKS

NikeID Studio

NikeID has a new studio (in Niketown, naturally) for personal consultations, so you can tailor a pair of sneakers to match your personal color scheme. It's your best chance to get a sneaker named after you—other than that late-breaking NBA career.

411: 6 E 57th St, for appointments visit NikeID.com
