The chest-deep pool at the Thompson LES has been whispered about for weeks—maybe you've even seen a few pics of the Andy Warhol snap printed on the bottom—but now you'll be able to see it firsthand from the poolside bar, provided you're a hotel guest, have a card at Above Allen or, more importantly, land a reservation at Shang. We suggest tucking into some pork belly and then making a beeline for the shallow end...
We love a good BYO, but lugging around a bottle all night can get downright tedious and cumbersome. Luckily, a FiDi wine shop called New York Vintners is pioneering something we like to call Order Your Own (OYO), bringing bottles of bubbly (and non-bubbly) to Kuma Inn just in time for your reservation, provided you give them a ring before 5pm. More restaurants are in the works, but until then, we'd keep a Shiraz on you at all times.
