For cocktails after dinner at Scarpetta/cocktails after work/cocktails any time you want a good cocktail, there's now The Seville: an attractive subterranean lounge underneath NoMad's James Hotel.
Named after the original hotel that claimed the space 'til '87, the lounge has this sort of sexy apartment vibe, with velvet couches and armchairs arranged into intimate nooks where you might enjoy a plank-smoked Old Fashioned or barrel-aged Negroni served up tableside. (Menu here.) Music will mostly be handled by an all-female DJ lineup they've dubbed "The Ladies of the Seville," who will be spinning everything from '60s classic rock to '90s New York hip-hop.
The Seville, now open, 22 E 29th St (at Madison), 212-226-2833, see the menu and the slideshow
