Today we have big news involving Pennsylvania. No, it isn’t that “you’ve got a friend there,” though
that’s nice.
It’s that someone basically imported the whole damn state to M Street.
It’s called Second State, it’s the best way to experience Pennsylvania without getting on I-270, and they’re now taking reservations for an October 21 opening.

Now, there’s a lot of stuff to check out. Namely:
- Thirty different ryes. White ones. Brown ones. Pennsylvania ones. Get ’em neat. Get ’em with a big block ice cube. Just get ’em.
- A cozy nook for two at the downstairs bar. Nice place to share a cocktail like the Keystone Whiskey Sour (rye, amaretto, cider reduction, egg white) and small plates like bison meatballs and cheddar pierogies.
- Game. Like roasted pheasant, coffee-rubbed venison and tea-smoked duck. Grab one of the giant booths for six upstairs and share them all.
