An Evening of Gin, a Lifetime of Gin

Fun news: the cocktail gurus at Wisdom are starting a gin club with their 70-plus gins. This will inevitably encourage you to try more gin. Starting tonight, when they’ll be pouring gratis tastes from eight distilleries, and giving you deals on gin cocktails. Consider it the fraternity rush of the gin club.

Everything’s Coming Up Russian

Time to turn your attention to obscure snowy sports. And vodka. Show up at Mari Vanna, downtown’s outpost of Russian-ness, and get a free shot of infused vodka, gratis pirozhki (meat pies) and Olympics coverage on their flat-screens. To keep tabs on your luge fantasy team.

Oyster and Beer Deals at Meridian Pint

It’s Monday. It’s happy hour. You want something straightforward and simple. Like dollar oysters. Enter Meridian Pint’s new happy hour. Local oysters for a buck. Isn’t that easy... Or grab a half dozen and a pint of Irish stout for $10. Easier.

Tuesday
It’s a Beatles Concert. Sort Of.
MEET THE BEATLES

It’s a Beatles Concert. Sort Of.

And now, some quick Beatles trivia: the band played its first US concert 50 years ago Tuesday, just north of Union Station. And some enterprising folks (okay, developers) are having a Beatles tribute band reenact the show to the exact moment. Try to keep the shrieking to a minimum.

Feb 11, doors 6pm, $45-$100, Uline Arena, 3rd and M St NE, tickets here
