A few months back, Ziryab closed. And although we can’t say for sure, we’d suspect they were working on reopening with a bunch of new Mediterranean-influenced cocktails like a date-infused Manhattan and a tequila number called the Jericho Fig Tree with Bénédictine. Yep. Pretty sure it was that.
There’s a new shop in the Mission. It’s in an old Victorian. It’s got leather bags and leather belts and vintage watches like a 1977 Omega. There’s even a leather workshop downstairs where you can customize your own bag. It’s just better if you know these things.
Prosciutto cotto pizza. $3 sangria. A special Vieux Carré cocktail aged in American oak for four months. It’s all part of Zero Zero’s three-year anniversary party, and it’s happening all weekend long. We’re no mathematicians, but that’s at least two days’ worth of eating and drinking that stuff.
SF Chefs. Always a nice time. Probably because of all the food and wine. But this year, they’re adding brunch to the mix for the first time ever. Bix will have green eggs and ham. Tacolicious will have cochinita pibil tostadas. You’ll have mimosas. It goes on like this.
Once upon a time, a couple worked together at Farallon. They liked that. It worked out well. So they decided to open a new restaurant in Oakland called Homestead and vowed to serve you duck confit tortellini and slow-roasted pork. And you lived happily ever after.
