It’s that time of year again. The snow is melting. Ski lifts are shutting down. People are looking at each other with sad faces. Not you, though. Because now you know which five ski mountains just extended their seasons. Actually, you have to read this first. Then you’ll know...
Heads up: Whistler and Blackcomb are going out with a bang. 1) Blackcomb’s letting you ski until... almost summer, and 2) they’re both hosting the world’s biggest ski and snowboard festival, with free concerts, all-night parties and a costumed-dog parade called Dogfest. Of course Canada just invented Dogfest.
You could always use more one-on-one time with 1,875 feet of terrain. Well, good news: Brighton is giving you an extra week of that. And cutting their day-ticket prices by 50%. And letting you go up by “magic carpet.” It’s one of those airport-style conveyor-belt things. Utah’s weird.
Showing up late: not always a good thing. Showing up late to Alta and Snowbird this season: definitely a good thing. Because for the first time in 75 years, you can use the same ski pass for both resorts. Mountains hate sharing. Apparently.
In addition to going ahead and not shutting down for the season, Sugarloaf just unveiled some new backside snowfields. So that’s great. Also great: a huge reggae rave on the slopes next weekend. In case you’re into reggae raves.
The gods have been good to Mammoth this year. Bunch of glorious snowstorms and whatnot. Right now, they’re measuring in at 15 feet of powder. And you’ve got all the way till Memorial Day to check things out. Or, you know, ski things.
