First, the bad news. You’ve got exactly today and tomorrow to get yourself up to the NoMad roof for dinner before next year. Now, the good news: they’re filling the hole with brunch inside. Sherry Bloodys, truffle/foie gras/chicken sandwiches, blueberry ricotta pancakes. Which everyone knows are the cure for roof withdrawal.
Look, we hate to bring this up, but summer... well, it’s not not ending soon. And that being the case, you’ll want to start building a handsome cashmere arsenal. Which is where these guys come in. They make crazy things out of the stuff. Like sweaters and... sweaters.
Sauce: you love the place. So technically, you also love their butchers. Good news: their butchers now operate out of... the front of Sauce. They’ve got beef, pork, chicken—you know, meat. There’s a beef CSA involved. Twice a month, you get several pounds of choice cuts, rubs, recipes and possibly soap. Two birds. One stone.
You ever read Hemingway? Guy wrote a lot of great food scenes. Fresh fish, just-baked bread and wine out of a satchel next to a river kind of stuff. This market is like that. But with Blue Bottle Coffee, Blue Marble Ice Cream and chocolate, too. And in Tribeca.
