Yesterday, a preview of spring in New York. Today, a preview of spring-cleaning at Scoop. Over the next month, they’ll be organizing their considerably large closets and selling off the excess stock for a song (expect Etro jackets, Gant gingham, Shipley & Halmos knits). And honestly, when are you not in the market for knits.

Feb 2, 9am-9pm; Feb 3-20, 11am-8pm; Scoop NYC, 430 W 14th St, 212-929-1244

The Expansion of Empellón

Empellón is opening a new location. Coming over from the old space: everything but the tacos and chips. Yup, for his sequel, chef Alex Stupak is focusing more on fancier regional cuisine and going back to his roots as a former wd~50 pastry chef. We can only assume this means churro foam.

Taking reservations now for Feb 13 opening, Empellón Cocina, 105 1st Ave, 212-780-0999, reserve here

Curing a Hangover with Pizza

Feel free to go absolutely bonkers Friday night. Because when you wake on Saturday, L’asso will be waiting with open arms. And mimosas. And a new hair of the dog smoked-salmon pizza that’s sort of like a bagel and lox. Minus the schmear.

Brunch starts Feb 4, Sat-Sun, 11am-4pm, L’asso, 107 1st Ave, 212-837-2045

Brunching at Hudson Clearwater
CLEARWATER REVIVAL

Brunching at Hudson Clearwater

Kicking off the most important eating day of the year (and New York football game in four): Hudson Clearwater’s inaugural brunch service. The hidden gem (you enter through a secret garden) will be blending fruit smoothies, frying french toast and grilling up hanger steaks. The Buffalo wings can wait.

Brunch starts Feb 5, Sundays, 10am-3pm, Hudson Clearwater, 447 Hudson St, 212-989-3255

Eataly Hosts the Super Bowl
TWO-PINT CONVERSION

Eataly Hosts the Super Bowl

Good news: we’ve found you an alternative to seats on the 50 for Sunday. Birreria, Eataly’s rooftop beer garden, is showing the grand American football contest on eight flat-screens. Also, they’ll be opening up the bar and kitchen for unlimited food and Moretti during the game. Nobody does Super Bowl like the Italians.
