Objects in the weekend are closer than they appear.

Thursday
An After-Dark Brooklyn Bazaar
NIGHT MOVES

An After-Dark Brooklyn Bazaar

The nighttime is the right time. Especially if you’re in Williamsburg this evening between the after-hours of 5pm and 1am. That’s when the Brooklyn Night Bazaar will be transforming a gargantuan warehouse into a neon-lit marketplace full of food vendors, live music and various miscellanea like hand-painted baseball cards. You can never have enough miscellanea.

Meet Your New Favorite Shirt

Bespoken’s getting into the custom shirt game. And to celebrate, they’ve popped up a shirt bar inside menswear mainstay Odin. Belly up to the counter, place an order, and a 16-person team of tailors will build you a button-down. For proof, they’ll each autograph the shirt’s hang tag. Or upon request, a body part.

Through Dec 27; Mon-Sat, 11-8pm; Sun, noon-7pm; Odin New York, 199 Lafayette St, 212-966-0026

Saturday
The Brunch Bloody Mary. Now a Salad.
PRODIGAL SON

The Brunch Bloody Mary. Now a Salad.

Since the dawn of time (or the invention of midday cocktailing), it was assumed that if you wanted a Bloody Mary, you had to drink it. Then Sons of Essex launched their weekend brunch. And suddenly you could eat it with a fork. At this rate, straws will be extinct by 2014.

Sat-Sun starting Dec 17, 11am-3pm, Sons of Essex, 133 Essex St, 212-674-7100

A Russian Bathhouse Dance Party

There’re very few reasons one would break into a Russian bathhouse after closing. A half-naked dance party: certainly one of them. So this Saturday, you’ll throw on your favorite dancing robe and prepare for a late night of steaming, jacuzzi-ing and rhythmic Marco Polo. You’ll want to stretch.

WAY BACK WHEN

Like a Bar from the ’70s. The 1870s.

Some things need to be broken in before they can be truly appreciated. La-Z-Boys. Baseball mitts. Neighborhood bars. Then there’s the Wayland. A just-opened watering hole that feels like it’s been around since the Grant administration. Homemade bitters. Live piano music. Paint-chipped walls. That new old-bar smell...

Soft-open this weekend, The Wayland, 700 E 9th St, 212-777-7022
