The cocktail scientists at Rickhouse have emerged from their lab with a new summer lineup, including the absinthe and root beer Big Dig and the dark blackberry and whiskey Berry O’Brien. They were crafted not so much to beat the heat, but the fog. Not that you really need an excuse.
The time to indulge your desire to mix art, cocktails and demolition is now. Here (after a few gratis cocktails), you’ll get to contribute your own talent to selected works of art-in-the-making like the steel Do Hit Chair. Grab a hammer, smash the chair, and call it art. You might’ve heard or witnessed the mob scene at Hapa Ramen’s last pop-up at Coffee Bar, so you might be surprised to hear that they’re returning for a ramen-filled do-over. If you’re lucky, they’ll also have the Lindsay Lohan on the menu—which is their breaded pork sandwich that’s so good, it should be put behind bars.
It’s good practice to have wine bars that you can call on in all parts of the city for impromptu quartinos and such. So you should know about this new Sunset spot—they’ve got couches and bar seats all over, but you can also buy a bottle and take it home. After all, impromptu bottles trump impromptu quartinos...
The backroom speakeasy that’s been hiding out at Dalva just added three more nights and a happy hour, including $5 cocktails like the Bourbon Mule and the rye/VT maple syrup Bleeding Tree. Given all this, they might need to find a new name.
