Brews for Breakfast at Republic

Lowdown: They've got SF's largest domestic beer list, along with Frings (beer-battered onion rings and fries), BBQ Beef Nachos and the Republic Burger. It goes without saying that fans of the Stars and Stripes will be here, alive and kicking. Also: eating.

GOING PUBLIC

Beer-on-the-Wall World Cup at Public

TVs: 23 big-screens
Lowdown: At 6am, the kitchen at Mijita will be churning out futbol-inspired grub like Chilaquiles and Fried Chicken Sandwiches (soccer players love fried chicken). And in the spirit of competition, if you drink all 24 bottles on Public's beer list, you'll get your own World Cup pilsner glass—aka your own private World Cup.

THE MEXICAN

Lowdown: All tournament long, they're serving up $6 Bloody Marys, $12 buckets of Bud and Bud Light, and massive breakfast burritos like the andouille/bacon/eggs La Bomba. Our prediction: lots of midday siestas.

South Africa by Way of Italy at Panta Rei

Lowdown: Four years ago, this trattoria in North Beach was basically World Cup HQ, which is why you'll want to grab a seat at the tile bar bright and (especially) early. They'll be mixing cocktails all morning, and dishing out their weekend brunch throughout the week. It's enough to make you wish the World Cup were every month.
