Facial Hair Championships

Tonight, you have options. The first is at Edinburgh Castle, where they are holding a tournament to determine who has the best facial hair in all of San Francisco, in four different categories: mustache, beard, partial beard and fake facial hair. And just for competing (or observing), you will win gratis PBRs.

DJs and Food Carts at the Lookout

Then, later tonight, the Lookout is bringing in a merry band of pranksters from Burning Man known as Dirty Dishes, who will be setting up a techno DJ and three food carts, dishing you pulled-pork sliders, chicken satay and desserts from Gobba Gobba Hey. Nothing goes better with pulled pork than techno.

Three-Day Sale at Acrimony

This weekend is good for barbecues. It's also good for shopping. Possibly for stuff to wear to barbecues. With that in mind, Acrimony is taking 40% off youthful, small-batch labels like Gitman Bros, Wings + Horns and Hyden Yoo. We see a new T-shirt and a chicken leg in your future.

May 29-31, Acrimony, 333 Hayes St (at Gough), 415-861-1025

Mission Beach Café BBQ Begins

This Tuesday is the start of BBQ Tuesdays at Mission Beach Café, when they'll be blasting your taste buds with a grill-heavy swath of mesquite-smoked pulled-pork sandwiches and fig-wood-smoked ribs. But this Monday they'll be throwing a preview, so get in a day early and feel superior to everybody dumb enough to think BBQ Tuesdays would start on a Tuesday.

May 31, then every Tuesday through summer, Mission Beach Café, 198 Guerrero St, 415-861-0198
